Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Licensr, a Tekuno product, collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit our website or use the Service. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25, and other applicable privacy laws.

1. Who we are

Licensr is operated by Tekuno. We act as the enterprise responsible for the personal information we collect about visitors to our website and the administrators who use the Service. When we process personal information about your own customers on your behalf, you remain responsible for that information and we act as your service provider.

2. Personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Account information: your name, email address, and authentication identifiers when you create a workspace or sign in.
  • Workspace and billing data: organisation settings, plugin metadata, plan, and subscription status.
  • Customer records you manage: your customers’ email addresses, license records, and related Stripe webhook payloads, processed on your behalf.
  • Usage and device data: with your consent, aggregated analytics such as page views, clicks, and conversions, plus technical data like browser type and approximate region.
  • Communications: messages you send to our support or legal contacts.

3. Why we use it (purposes)

We use personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected, namely to:

  • Provide, operate, secure, and maintain the Service.
  • Authenticate users and protect against fraud and abuse.
  • Issue and manage license keys and process subscriptions.
  • With your consent, measure and improve how the website and product perform.
  • Communicate with you about your account, security, and legal or transactional matters.
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

4. Consent

We rely on your consent for non-essential processing, including analytics cookies. Strictly necessary cookies that are required for the site to function do not require consent. You can give, refuse, or withdraw consent at any time, and withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep the site working (security, navigation, and remembering your cookie choices) and, only with your consent, analytics cookies to understand and improve how the site and product are used. No analytics or other non-essential cookies are set before you make a choice. You can review or change your choices at any time:

6. Third parties and service providers

We do not sell or rent personal information. We rely on a limited set of service providers (processors) who are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations:

  • Google Cloud: hosting and infrastructure.
  • Firebase: authentication and, with your consent, analytics.
  • Meta (Facebook) and Reddit: with your consent, advertising measurement pixels.
  • Stripe: payment processing and subscription billing.
  • Postmark: transactional email delivery.

7. Information stored outside Quebec

Some of our service providers store or process information outside Quebec, including in the United States. Before entrusting personal information to a provider outside Quebec, we assess whether it receives adequate protection, taking into account the sensitivity of the information, the purposes of its use, and the legal framework applicable where it is processed.

8. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described above or to meet legal and accounting obligations. When personal information is no longer needed, we destroy or anonymise it. Customer data we hold on your behalf may be exported or deleted at your written request.

9. How we protect it

We use reasonable technical, physical, and organisational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and reCAPTCHA-based abuse protection. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify affected individuals and the Commission d’accès à l’information where required following a confidentiality incident.

10. Children

The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate.

12. Your rights under Law 25

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request the correction (rectification) of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Withdraw your consent to non-essential processing at any time.
  • Request that personal information you provided be communicated to you in a structured, commonly used technological format (portability).
  • Request the deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations.
  • Be informed of, and object to, decisions based exclusively on automated processing (we do not currently make such decisions).

To exercise any of these rights, contact our Privacy Officer below. We will respond within the timeframe required by law.
